Outdoor Flame Obsession

It is no secret that the UK leads the landscaping industry. That’s why when we wanted something new and exciting to bring to the US landscaping market, we asked our sister company, Tenax UK for some ideas. Their marketing research favored Outdoor Flames. Since we premiered the Outdoor Flames at two national tradeshows, we have had nothing but excitement and orders. “It’s about time someone brought something new to the market,” commented one retailer. Outdoor Flames take the concept of romance and relaxation from inside to the backyard. Once more, the Outdoor Flames – designed with a roman architect theme -- are constructed from sturdy concrete and plaster, and retail from $16 to $18. The flame, which is created from a special wickless block of paraffin wax, is unlike traditional candles and oil in that it is a very vibrant, soft, and enduring flame. The flame blocks come in six scents - jasmine, apple, vanilla, citrus, rose, cinnamon, and citronella. Currently, the Outdoor Flames are only available thru distributors. Look from them at your local retail store next spring.

Tenax Introduces Fresh, New Label Designs

All of Tenax’s fencing, nets, and lawn & gardening products will sport a new look this fall with the debut of an updated, contemporary label that was partially designed by the company’s CEO and COO. “It is just a cleaner look. You just might want to frame it,” comments Tenax’s marketing manager, Preston Reed. The idea of the new label is part of a Tenax branding move to create a recognizable look throughout the company. “If you see a Tenax brochure, ad, direct-mailer, specification sheet, ink pen, etc., they will share the same ‘dna’,” comments COO Giovanni Capra. A dna that the new label reveals has lots of clean white space, a huge image, uncluttered verbiage -- all accented with a strong but smart Myriad font. “In short,” comments, Preston, “the simplicity of the new label reflects the quality and power of the products it skins.”

JUNE 5-6 2007

TENAX Corporation’s 2007 General Sales Division Meeting - Baltimore, Maryland

Tenax COO, Giovanni Capra, began the meeting with a healthy dose of praise and a real time perspective of where Tenax has been, where it is, and where it will be. Throughout the two day meeting, each regional sales manager presented reports detailing accomplishments, goals, and S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, Threats) analyses. In the area of strengths, there was a consensus that Tenax has a very strong presence in both the national and international markets, with such retailers as Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, TSC, Mills Fleet Farm, and International Sources.

From time to time, the CEO, Giulio DeGiuseppe, interjected valuable solutions, and took notes on those concerns that would need more study. On the final day – some 20 or so coffees later – a list of ‘action-items’ were assigned, all with the aim of positioning Tenax in an even stronger stance. Afterwards, dinner was held at Kobe Restaurant, in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Tenax Deer Fence Aides in a Restoration Effort of the American Chestnut Tree

Recently, the TN Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation utilized Tenax Deer Fence to barricade deer from destroying the American Chestnut Tree. The goal of this not-for-profit organization is to restore the American Chestnut Tree to the forests of the Eastern US. The Chestnut was almost wiped out by an exotic fungus during the last century, but their active plant-breeding program is making progress towards the goal of reintroducing the American Chestnut. Deer can become a problem during these efforts, since they eat the trees and without protection, an orchard in deer habitat is destined for failure. To resolve this situation, Tenax Deer Fence was erected after an orchard in Williamson County, TN suffered severe damage due to deer. One year later, a member of the Foundation is happy to report that the easy to install and cost efficient fencing has performed well, and successfully kept deer from destroying this restoration effort.

For more information, you can find the installation method used in this instance at the Penn State University School of Forestry web site here, and additional information on the Tennessee State Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation at http://www2.volstate.edu/tnchestnut/index.htm or the American Chestnut Foundation at www.acf.org.

In creating a more corporate feel, as well as giving the user a much better navigational and informational experience, Tenax has redesigned their US-based website tenaxus.com. This helps the user quickly and efficiently locate their page, rather than sifting through text and links. For those that like to read, we have created an online geosynthetic "library", shown as Literature in the links. In addition, we have added a Locator. The Locator swiftly aides the user in locating products within the site, or locating distributors or resellers (within the US) of Tenax product.
